Developing strong and trusted partnerships with various community resources and providers is an essential component to providing a continuum of care for inmate-patients, their families and their communities. It’s an important process in returning former offenders back to their families and their communities, their contributing to society, returning to a healthier lifestyle and reducing recidivism.
Actively engaging and partnering closely with community resources is a key differentiator between CorrHealth and other providers, as most inmate healthcare providers talk a lot about working closely with community resources in the communities which they serve and working to reduce recidivism, but almost none are actively taking genuine steps in doing so. Community involvement and engaging in partnerships with community providers is imbedded in our foundation and we are serious about investing ourselves and our enhancing partnerships with this complex and essential component. Engaging and developing trusted relationships in the community is a complex process and it requires serious commitment, planning, credibility and experienced professionals to lead these engagements and succeed with these community groups.
Through the leadership of Pat Smith, CorrHealth’s Director of Community Resources, the right leader is driving CorrHealth’s program and community partnership success. CorrHealth is dedicated to investing in our communities, and active community involvement is merely one example of how CorrHealth is committed to doing all that we can to ensure our inmate patients lead healthier lifestyles, how we educate them on how to be accountable and self -reliant with their healthcare and how CorrHealth is committed to doing all that we can to protect the communities in which we proudly serve.
