At CorrHealth, the success of our team is driven by individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support our mission and values. Today, we’re excited to highlight the incredible work of Jerika Trujillo, our People & Culture Coordinator. Jerika plays a vital role in ensuring that our team members feel supported and that operations within our People & Culture department run smoothly. Her journey with CorrHealth, coupled with her commitment to “Do Right,” makes her an integral part of our team.
A Day in the Life of a People & Culture Coordinator
Jerika’s responsibilities are as diverse as they are impactful. From interacting with job applicants, team members, and department heads to maintaining employee records and overseeing onboarding processes, her role ensures that our People & Culture department remains a reliable resource for all.
“A typical day starts by reviewing the People & Culture inbox and responding to team members’ inquiries. Whether it’s conducting new hire orientations or 30- and 180-day check-ins, my days are filled with supporting team members and tackling new projects. Before I know it, the day is over!” Jerika explained.
A Resource for Team Members
What Jerika enjoys most about her role is being a resource for her colleagues. “I believe I’m one of the first people team members connect with during onboarding, and I get to follow up with them throughout their journey at CorrHealth,” she said. This connection motivates Jerika to provide exceptional support, helping team members feel valued and understood.
Her boss, Kim Caldwell, shares: “Jerika has been an invaluable asset to the People and Culture department. From auditing document files and certifications to managing daily tasks, Jerika handles everything with grace and precision. She even earned her aPHR certification this year while balancing her role at CorrHealth and her college studies—a testament to her remarkable work ethic.”
The Importance of Organization
Jerika credits her organizational skills for keeping things running smoothly. “From onboarding new team members to tracking leave of absence and maintaining proper documentation, organization is key. I use spreadsheets daily to double and triple-check my work.”
Jerika’s commitment to delivering excellent results stems from her belief in CorrHealth’s mission. “With our passion for quality care and collaboration with county partners, I strive to uphold the ‘Do Right’ mantra. It’s an honor to be part of such a great company,” she said.
Life Beyond CorrHealth
Outside of work, Jerika enjoys spending time with her family. As the oldest of eight siblings, she takes pride in her role as a mentor and supporter. Whether cheering at her sisters’ sporting events or offering advice, family time is precious to her.
Looking Ahead
Jerika’s impact on CorrHealth and the People & Culture department is undeniable. Her proactive attitude, dedication, and ability to take on new challenges inspire those around her. As Kim puts it, “Jerika consistently rises to the challenge, demonstrating a proactive attitude that adds tremendous value to our team. We are fortunate to have her, and I look forward to seeing all that she will continue to accomplish.”
Thank you, Jerika, for your dedication, compassion, and drive. We’re proud to have you as part of the CorrHealth family!
