For Dianna, the most rewarding part of working in correctional healthcare is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for a population that often has no voice or choice in their care. “They can’t choose what doctor or provider they see,” she explains. That reality drives her commitment to ensuring every inmate patient receives respectful, high-quality care, no matter their circumstances. For Dianna, delivering consistent, compassionate healthcare isn’t just a job—it’s a responsibility she takes seriously every day.
With more than 15 years of experience in healthcare, Dianna joined the CorrHealth team last October as a Health Services Administrator (HSA) at the Washington County facility in Texas. Her journey into healthcare began with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, where she worked as a ward clerk.
During that time, Dianna was deeply influenced by both her family’s medical challenges and her own personal experiences. “I’ve always had that caring, nurturing part of me that’s wanted to help people,” she shares. That passion ultimately led her to pursue a career focused on patient care and advocacy.
Dianna’s career path reflects a deep dedication to serving individuals within the correctional system. She gained hands-on clinical experience as a physical therapy assistant before advancing her education and becoming a Registered Nurse. Each role strengthened her understanding of patient needs and the importance of leadership within correctional healthcare settings. Today, as an HSA, she combines her clinical background with strong operational leadership to support both her patients and her team.
Staying true to CorrHealth’s mission, Dianna leads by example and consistently reinforces the importance of doing the right thing—even when it’s challenging. Her advice to nurses entering correctional healthcare is simple but powerful: always “Do Right.”
She encourages her team to remain fair, consistent, and compassionate, reminding them that quality care and mutual respect create the foundation for success. “Stay fair, be consistent, and provide quality care,” Dianna says. “You really can’t go wrong.”
Dianna’s leadership, experience, and unwavering dedication continue to make a positive impact at Washington County. She embodies the values CorrHealth stands for and plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive the care they deserve.
