We’d like to introduce Brandon Fennell, LVN, at the Wichita County, Texas facility. Brandon has been in healthcare since 2008. He began at North Texas State hospital in Vernon, Texas, as a psychiatric nurse assistant performing routine clinical tasks and basic nursing care. He later became a Rights Protection Officer for the campus. “I started in correctional healthcare in 2019, as a Mental Health Clerk here in Wichita County.” Brandon’s HSA/RN, Brandi Beard, describes him as “Outstanding!” We’d like to shine a light on Brandon and share what makes him ‘Outstanding.’
“My favorite part of my job is working with my awesome team, as well as helping the patients by caring for them the way I would want my family to be cared for if they were incarcerated.”
Corrhealth began providing comprehensive medical health, mental health, and ancillary services for inmate patients at the Wichita County Detention Center facility in March of 2022. Brandon continued as the Mental Health Clerk while simultaneously going to Nursing School. He graduated from North Central Texas College as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in August of 2022, and plans to return to his studies in the fall and complete nursing school with his RN credential. We couldn’t be prouder. To any new nursing graduates, Brandon would advise, “Always ask questions if you are unsure. Don’t be afraid to jump in and get hands-on experience. You will learn something new every day.”
He goes on to say, “Be a team player and treat everyone the way you would want to be treated.” Brandon’s generous spirit is what makes him a great asset – and we’re so proud to have him on our team. Click here to see some of our teams in action.
