CorrHealth will celebrate its first anniversary as the chosen healthcare provider for the Larimer County Jail in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
“We have made remarkable strides in the past year, said CorrHealth President, Todd Murphy. I am proud of our team’s ongoing agility and willingness to jump in and get the job done – including the important renewal of Larimer County Jail’s NCCHC accreditation. We have achieved accreditation for 100% of our clients who chose to seek accreditation and have never lost an accreditation.
During CorrHealth’s tenure, Lieutenant Staci Shafer was recognized as the 44th Judge Conrad L. Ball Award recipient. Her steadfast support and willingness to develop life-changing health programs like the Medication Assisted Program at Larimer County Jail is what motivates our team every day.” She attributed her recognition due in no small part to the hard work of Amanda Jarman, the RN/Health Service Administrator, and her team at Larimer.
Lt. Shaffer also remarked, “At the beginning, while CorrHealth was transitioning into Larimer County, they brought in 20 employees to assist — this meant that we had ample nursing coverage, they made sure all of the shifts were covered, and made sure good orientation occurred during the transition.”
Larimer County Jail has approximately 70 team members with 60 full-time roles covering every level from Medical Assistants to RNs up to medical providers. On the Mental Health side, there are licensed professional counselors as well as licensed psychiatrists. Both medical health and mental health care are all provided inside the facility.
The facility was built to house 450 inmates but can accommodate up to 617 men and women. The monthly average of total bookings in the Larimer County Jail & Detention Center is just over 200.
