It’s time to highlight someone whose leadership and expertise help drive many of CorrHealth’s most important initiatives—Krista Montgomery, our Director of Finance. While Krista serves in a remote role, she is closely connected to every aspect of our organization, playing an integral part in strategic projects, financial oversight, and day-to-day operations. Her influence can be seen—and felt—throughout CorrHealth’s continued growth and success.
A Numbers-Driven Leader with Heart
Krista joined CorrHealth in January 2021 as a Senior Accountant, bringing with her a strong background in healthcare finance and a reputation for precision and integrity. Just one year later, she stepped into the role of Director of Finance, and she’s been leading with expertise, transparency, and humor ever since.
From overseeing the accounting department to collaborating on contracts, creating detailed reports, ensuring financial accuracy, and supporting RFPs and renewals, Krista’s role is dynamic and fast-paced—just how she likes it. “Monotony is not something I’m good with,” she jokes. “My role is different every day, which keeps things exciting.” Whether she’s working alongside our CEO, Todd Murphy, and COO, Mike Dillman, or digging into the details to track down a missing penny, Krista approaches every task with enthusiasm and excellence.
A Culture of Collaboration
Krista isn’t just respected for her knowledge—she’s also deeply appreciated by her team. She’s fostered a work environment filled with trust, collaboration, and zero ego.
“Krista is amazing,” says Katelyn Hohenberger. “She’s a great boss—very caring and understanding—and she puts in so much work behind the scenes to make sure everything runs smoothly. Additionally, she ensures our team has time away to reset. She’s just great all around.”
Patricia Frank agrees: “I can’t imagine a better leader for our team. Krista is extremely detail-oriented and always thinking about how to serve our team and our partners better. She gives us the tools to grow in our roles, and I’ve learned more from her than I ever have in past positions.”
What Keeps Her Going
Krista’s motivation stems from two places: a deep love for numbers (yes, really!) and a belief in CorrHealth’s values. “I’m kind of a perfectionist,” she admits. “I love finding where that penny is off—but more importantly, I believe in CorrHealth and its mission to ‘Do Right.’ It’s not just a motto; it’s how we operate, and I’m proud to be a part of that.”
One thing Krista wants everyone to know about her role? Documentation is everything. “If you don’t have it, your books are pretty worthless. That’s why we’re always hunting down those receipts!”
Beyond the Spreadsheets
Outside of work, Krista keeps her competitive spirit alive through games, treasure hunting at thrift stores, and refurbishing old furniture. She enjoys spending time with friends and family (and a little wine), growing vegetables, and staying informed on current events—her morning routine includes reading the New York Times religiously.
Krista, thank you for your dedication, leadership, and for keeping CorrHealth’s financial heartbeat steady and strong. Even though you don’t walk through the halls with us daily, your presence is an essential part of our team’s success—and we’re incredibly lucky to have you.
