At the Adams County Detention Facility (ACDF), it doesn’t take long for Andrea Pasillas, LPN, to be noticed. Whether assisting in Med Pass, Booking, Detox, or Sick Call, Andrea brings a calm confidence, a collaborative spirit, and a contagious smile to every shift. As part of the CorrHealth team in Adams County, she’s known for her clinical skills and adaptability, compassion, and unwavering positivity.
Andrea’s journey with CorrHealth began during the recent transition at ACDF. What encouraged her to stay wasn’t just the opportunity; it was the relationships she had already built with teammates who also chose to continue serving their community with CorrHealth. “I’ve worked with many of these people for years,” she shares. “We know each other well, which helps us work better together.”
A Flexible Team Player in Every Role
Andrea’s day-to-day work is never the same. With experience in nearly every nursing post in the facility, she goes wherever she’s needed most—and does so with a team-first mentality. “It depends where I’m assigned,” she explains. “But no matter where I’m working, I do my best to support the team and meet the challenges of that post.”
Her ability to adapt and support the team hasn’t gone unnoticed. Deborah, the Health Services Administrator at Adams County, describes Andrea as “always willing to help her team with an enthusiastic attitude and smile. She’s jumped into new roles over the past year and tackled them head-on. She is an amazing part of the team.”
Fueling Growth Through Positivity and Learning
What motivates Andrea? A genuine desire to grow—and to help others grow, too. “I like to challenge myself and expand my skills,” she says. “But I also like helping my coworkers grow and succeed. When we work together, everything runs better.”
One part of Andrea’s role that people might not realize is essential is her attitude. “Positive energy is key,” she says. “Negativity is just a bad habit with a domino effect. I try to bring good energy wherever I go.”
Outside of Work: Laughter, Family, and the Great Outdoors
When she’s not at work, Andrea recharges with nature, naps, and laughter. You might find her hiking the Colorado Rockies, spending quality time with her family, or enjoying a much-needed rest. “I love laughing, exploring, and just being with family,” she shares.
