Dallas, TX – Today, CorrHealth marks the beginning of a new partnership with the Larimer County Jail providing comprehensive healthcare and mental health services for their inmate population. The successful transition began August 27 and will complete by the contracted start date, September 1, 2022.
In keeping with the community standards of Larimer County, Colorado, the healthcare delivery is defined as medical, mental health, medication assisted treatment, dental care, and vision care. The agreement with CorrHealth will benefit the county in several ways:
– maximize on-site programs and services and reduce costly off-site transports
– schedule and manage on-site dental services, including x-ray and laboratory services
– implement mental health programs, including suicide prevention and release plans
This combination of benefits is also expected to lower the county’s exposure to risks and liabilities. A more stable healthcare environment can result in decreased costs for the county, while elevating the standard of care provided to its approximately 450 adult inmate patients.
The agreed upon program requirements include inmate medical screening, admissions evaluation, triage, sick call, care of medically fragile inmates, pharmacy services, psychiatric screening, suicide risk assessments, mental health services, medication assisted treatment, medical clearances for intra-agency and inter-agency transfers, work clearances, and the continuing care of identified health problems, detoxification, and emergency services.
In addition to retaining existing healthcare professionals at the facility, CorrHealth will also employ approximately 24 local health professionals. CorrHealth is committed to working collaboratively with community providers of health care services with the goal of continuity of care. Some of the existing community providers are: Front Range Clinic, Salud Family Health, Behavioral Health Group, Sunrise Community Health, North Range Behavioral Health, Colorado Treatment Services, UCH Fort Collins Family Medicine, SummitStone and the “Stone Soup Group.”
