Dallas, TX – CorrHealth is excited to announce their new partnership with Garfield County to provide comprehensive medical, mental, and ancillary healthcare programs and services to the inmate-patients inside the County’s 204 bed (ADP of 95) facility. Garfield is the second Colorado county partner that we proudly serve.
The county received three bids from medical providers, which were carefully reviewed for compliance with the terms and conditions in the Request for Proposal (RFP). “CorrHealth, LLC was found to be responsive and will provide the best value to Garfield County.” said Garfield County Sheriff, Lou Vallario.
The contract was approved and a seamless transition to CorrHealth was completed July 1, 2023. The contract addresses the difficulties associated with the recruitment and retention of qualified healthcare professionals in the current environment, raising the bar on the standard of care (which includes additional training and support for the medical and mental healthcare teams), mitigating the county’s risks and minimizing costs by reducing offsite transports and taking advantage of negotiated costs for ancillary services.
CorrHealth listened to the needs of the Garfield County team and proposed a strong, stable coverage matrix based on providing onsite licensed medical and mental healthcare seven days a week. The implementation of onsite ancillary services to include Xray, laboratory services, and CorrEMR (CorrHealth’s Correctional-based medical records program) will be implemented in the first week. In addition to new team members, Garfield’s existing healthcare staff were also offered employment under the new contract.
