Inside Sarah’s Role as a Recruitment Specialist
As CorrHealth’s Recruiting Specialist, Sarah partners with hiring managers and directors to fill open and new roles at all of our active sites, including corporate positions. Each day, she strategizes job postings to attract top talent, reviews applications, verifies licensures, and aligns candidates’ experience with CorrHealth’s standards. As the first point of contact for most candidates, Sarah conducts initial phone screens, coordinates interviews, and assists candidates through each step of the recruitment journey, from application to pre-employment.
“I pride myself on being a professional, friendly first introduction to CorrHealth,” says Sarah. Her dedication ensures that each candidate feels valued and supported, setting a positive tone right from the start.
A Team Player Through and Through
Sarah’s work is fueled by her passion for teamwork and collaboration. “I’m fortunate to work with a fantastic group of professionals, many of whom I’ve known from prior roles,” she says. This foundation allows her team to communicate openly, share ideas, and support one another as they work toward a common goal. Sarah’s background in corporate retail management, a career spanning two decades, has instilled in her a deep appreciation for the importance of team engagement and growth. “I still find it exciting to see people join a new team and thrive,” she adds.

Sarah describes the recruitment process as a series of coordinated steps involving consistent communication with both hiring managers and candidates. Staying organized, setting timelines, and ensuring everyone is updated are key to her role. “My hiring managers are essential to keeping our facilities running smoothly, and I’m proud to support them in today’s competitive talent environment,” she shares.
Outside of Work
When Sarah isn’t finding top talent for CorrHealth, she enjoys diving into a good book and has recently rekindled her love for reading. Although she jokes about not being “outdoorsy,” she still finds joy in nature, especially in the fall. For Sarah, a perfect day includes sitting on a cabin porch by a river with a hot cup of coffee, a good book, and her closest friends, what she describes as “cozy nostalgia.”
