Dr. C.J. Rush, Chief Psychiatric Officer, joins CorrHealth with a strong background in corrections at both the county, and state levels. Dr. Rush is board certified in both Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine by the AOBNP. He has focused the majority of his service at the underserved populations, working at Community Behavioral Health Centers, Community Hospitals, and county and state prisons. He is the past Consult/Liaison Psychiatrist for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-Hamot, and Allegheny Health Network-St. Vincent Hospital. He was the Medical Director of Second Chances addiction clinic in Erie, PA. A proud combat veteran himself, he performed disability examinations for traumatic-brain injury cases for the Veterans Administration. Dr. Rush specializes in clinical psychopharmacology, addiction, the intersection of clinical medicine and psychiatry, as well as multiple psychotherapy modalities. He is a graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and continued there for his Medical Internship, and his residency in Psychiatry. He completed a Master’s degree in Medical Education while he was Chief Resident. He is a dedicated educator and adjunct clinical professor at his alma mater Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and Drexel University.
