Washington County, Texas
Ensuring quality care while reducing risk & liability.
Washington County had always provided self-operated health care services prior to entering into an agreement with CorrHealth. Concerns with recruitment and retention, and a need to raise the standard of care to include coverage, and discipline in technology, documentation with essential checks and balances, led them to engage in a competitive procurement process. In June 2021, CorrHealth was selected and transitioned into their facility in one week with full coverage to include licensed discipline, EMR capability, and successfully implemented discharge planning services.
Hiring correctionally experienced healthcare professionals and establishing reliable, quality programs and services while providing ongoing training is one element in raising the standard of care for county partners like Washington County. During our transition, we were able to not only transition swiftly but did so with full coverage, implementation of EMR capability, as well as established documentation processes and discharge planning services to meet the county’s needs. We are excited about our partnership with Washington County and look forward to a successful future.
