While many of our team members and county partners may not interact with him daily, Josh plays a crucial role in shaping how CorrHealth communicates and engages with its audience.

Meet Jim Garland, one of our dedicated team members at the Garfield County jail. Jim serves as a source of support and guidance in his role as Mental Health Professional. A dedicated and compassionate listener, Jim’s work is vital to the well-being of both the inmate patients he serves and the broader team he works alongside each day.

The transition from incarceration to the community presents many challenges, particularly for individuals battling a serious mental illness (SMI). This transition period is filled with stressors, like securing stable housing, economic instability, re-establishing familial relationships, and navigating employment opportunities. Clearly, there is a necessity for tailored support systems that prioritize rehabilitation over punishment.

Today, we’re excited to highlight the incredible work of Jerika Trujillo, our People & Culture Coordinator.
